The event used an experimental rule 23.4 (from the Slalom rules), with the approval of the RFEV.
RRS 30.4 was also changed for the Grand Finale race, so that OCS boards could start 5 seconds after the starting signal in the subsequent restarts. This rule was used successfully, with a small impact on umpire positioning to avoid interfering with the late starter. - FRAYP8
