The event was difficult to run. Club never provided any local transfer but reimbursed the UBER rides. The number of members of the International Jury was not adequate for the event, and some additional members were appointed before the beginning of the event. One of the jury room provided by the OA was without WiFi coverage and some of the judges refused to use their personal hotspot during the hearings; this caused a delay in publishing the decisions of some hearings.
The International Jury decided to give redress to 4 boats that were scored BFD, based on the video presented by the Race Committee which showed that none of those 4 boats broke RRS 30.4. The decision was to reinstate the boats in their finishing positions. From that moment the RC refused to show any video or tape recording during the hearings and this caused many complaints from the coaches. The RC was often too late using O and R flags according with wind changes.
Two rule 69 hearings were held. Only in one the allegations were upheld. The allegation concerned a competitor making disrespectful comments for the International Jury on the official regatta management system. The International Jury decided to give 1 point to the score of the boat for the races on that day and to refer the penalty to the relevant MNA.
Appendix T was used for the event, but it was not successful, mostly because parties were not showing up for the meeting. Competitors were not familiar with the electronic management system even though it has been used for some years by the class. This resulted in many requests not being lodged as hearing requests and therefore it was difficult for the International Jury to monitor them. - GRESK14
