The event started on the first day with Team Racing for the Optimist class only. 12 optimist teams took part. It was a challenge for the Race Management to run the double round robin format in the light winds within one day.
The following day saw the start of the series for the 9 classes in 3 race courses. Again, the winds were so light and late in coming that most classes recorded only 2 out of 3 scheduled races. The winds got better in days that followed and up to 4 races held to make up.
The event was significant as it was a selection event for boats to represent Singapore at the coming Asian Games as well as for some boat classes to be selected for other Continental events. - MASLC2
