The event was run out of the la ballina alegre resort on the Costa Brava just north of Barcelona. The venue was excellent allowing all competitors to stay at the resort and walk to the beach where the boats were stored. The wind proved challenging on a couple of days, but generally came up around 1pm each day allowing about four hours of racing each day. The Hobie company supplied 50 brand new Hobie 16s and a round robin format was used.
The local race committee staff were supported by regular Hobie Class Association volunteers with all working together well.
Staff at the facility were extremely helpful and willing to assist whenever needed.
